OBPA is sponsering a meeting with Superintendent Lawrence Belli on Tuesday, March 22nd to discuss what "will be happening on the beach" this summer. This meeting will be open to the public.
This meeting is being held in an apparent attempt to avoid at least some of the problems fomented last summer by NPS policy. It is not known at this time if further change in NPS policy is in the offing.
This meeting was called on heels of a meeting on March 2nd where a facilitator was successfully nominated by a group of 15 "stakeholders". The March 2nd meeting marks the beginning of the negotiated rulemaking process which the NPS wants to use to formulate a new ORV management plan for the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
All interested persons are requested to attend the March 22 meeting. It will be held at the Cape Hatteras Anglers Club building on Light Plant Rd. in Buxton. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 PM.
